This Womens Long Sleeve Base Layer by Castelli is ideal for freezing cold days, and makes an ideal 2nd layer, over a base layer. Polartec® Alpha® 90 high-loft active insulation is key to the warmth, and is soft, stretchy and breathable while keeping weight to a minimum. 

The half zip keeps bulk down while still allowing some adjustment, and it’s slightly offset so doesn’t clash with zips on other garments. A high collar prevents draughts, and the base layer has a close-to-body fit that can be tucked into a pair of tights or worn over the top.
